This increase in demand for helicopter pilots is evident in the number of open positions – over 4,000, according to HAYMAN-WOODWARD. The shortage of professionals in this field has led to a considerable increase in salaries, with a rise of 21% in the last five years.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has also confirmed the growth trend in the helicopter pilot market, with a projected employment growth rate of 6% from 2018 to 2028.
In 2023, the average salary of a helicopter pilot in the United States is $89,418 per year, reflecting the value and demand for these professionals. This growth in the job market for helicopter pilots in the U.S. is a clear indication of the increasing need for qualified professionals in this field.
