USA Eases Visa Issuance for AI Professionals

In a significant move to bolster the hiring of specialized Artificial Intelligence (AI) professionals in the United States, President Joe Biden’s executive order from November 2023 has paved the way for a smoother Green Card and visa issuance process for experts in AI, among other measures.

Recent data from the global mobility company HAYMAN-WOODWARD confirms the increasing trend of attraction and demand for new talents. The company’s survey reveals a 35% surge (compared to the same period in 2022) in the last quarter of 2023, with Brazilian AI professionals seeking work visas in the United States.

According to HAYMAN-WOODWARD CEO, Leonardo Freitas, President Biden’s executive order is poised to further streamline technology’s development and scope, particularly in the immigration process.

“AI can expedite the assessment and processing of work visas, especially for AI professionals, reducing bureaucracy and waiting times. While the U.S. immigration service had already been using AI-based mapping and investigative technologies, the executive order will facilitate the technology’s development and expansion,” Freitas explains.

Freitas also emphasizes the potential for a reduction in costs for AI professionals applying for work visas.

“While there is no specified direct cost reduction, the improved efficiency in visa processing can indirectly reduce operational costs and fees for applicants,” he reinforces.
