As a distinguished Arbitration and Litigation Lawyer in India as well as an Immigration Attorney licensed in the State of New York, Malika’s journey has been diverse and introduced her to all field of law and justice. Her educational journey commenced in prestigious institutions in India and the US, including the Delhi University (Bachelor of Commerce), Department of Laws (JD), Punjab University as well as Georgetown University (Washington D.C.).
Malika has actively practiced in small and medium sized law firms handling immigration, arbitration and litigation matters exclusively since 2019. Her remarkable journey in Immigration law further continued at Hayman Woodward, where she she first started as a Case Manager and was then promoted to an Immigration Attorney. As an Immigration Attorney, she worked mainly on EB-2 NIW cases and specialised in RFE’s, case analysis and drafting petitions.
As an Immigration Attorney at HAYMAN WOODWARD, a powerhouse with presence in the United Arab Emirates, Malika has vast experience in employment-based immigration (including the EB1-A, EB-2 and EB-5) for individuals located all over the world. Along with employment-based visas, she has expertise and experience in all different categories of temporary visas such as O1, L1, B1/B2, P1, J1 etc. Also, devoted to “aliens of extraordinary ability,” she has extensive experience serving institutional and individual clients in the arts, entertainment and design professions, including the fine arts, graphic and web design, performing arts, culinary arts, architecture, interior design, industrial and fashion design.
Ms. Malika advises and helps individuals to obtain the right visas, permanent residence (green card) and US citizenship. She helps to plan appropriate visa strategies for transitions from student to professional, for job and career changes, to unite family members, and to overcome grounds of ineligibility or other obstacles to a visa, green card, or citizenship – such as waivers of the two year foreign residence requirement for J-1 exchange visitors, waivers of the three and ten year bars for those who have overstayed, and waivers for some types of criminal or immigration history.
Ms. Malika has resided in different parts of the world and her extensive travels have given her a deep prospective and compassion for diverse cultures which has proved to be an invaluable asset to LFVATE. With a linguistic prowess that extends to multiple Asian/Indian languages, she offers a culturally attuned approach to her legal services. Beyond the courtroom and her legal knowledge, Ms. Malika is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Bar Council of India. Her other interests also include reading, working out in the gym and painting.
